Enigmatic master of a fencing academy and political opponent of the Queen. Jenny and Victor suspect him to be the current Black Jack. Hero worship is involved. They both take fencing classes at his academy now.
He helped organizing the escape of Trinia Szabor after Black Jack saved her from being executed.
A few years ago there was a scandal which involved Vencarlo, Grau Soldado and Sabina Merrin, the Queen’s personal bodyguard.

The Field Marshal is head of the Korvosan Guard and resides in the Citadel. She is sworn to protect the city of Korvosa.
Cressida is a powerful handsome woman, who invests all her energy in keeping the peace in the city. This is a difficult task in the current circumstances. She is very professional and will not let her personal opinions interfere with her duty: to uphold the oath of the Guard is her highest purpose. She is considered incorruptible.

The party meets him when he’s on a drinking spree following the death of King Eodred II and the ascension of Queen Ileosa. They sober him up, put him straight and return him to the Citadel.
The encounter him again when he invites them for a drink and a chat.
The third time he comes to their door for the help of Piousa, as his niece has fallen terribly ill and there is nobody else he can think of who can help her.

Geboren in een goed gezin van 3 kinderen heeft piousa een prettige jeugd gehad. Haar vader is een klerk bij regulation en haar moeder was altijd thuis om voor de kinderen te zorgen. Haar oudere broer is ondertussen een agent en haar jongste zus wordt opgeleid tot dame. Piousa zelf was echter niet de knapste en is daarom nooit opgeleid tot dame, maar tot een beroep. De keuze van haar ouders was gevallen op scribe en hier bleek ze ook duidelijk aanleg toe te hebben.

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009Ze is 23 jaar geleden geboren in de mooie stad Korvosa. Ze is het derde kind van Cade en Lavinia Thorngage. Haar 2 oudere broers heten Cade junior en Garret, daarnaast heeft ze nog 2 jonger zusje genaamd Amaryllis en Charmaine. Haar jongste broertje heet Milo. Ze is graag thuis bij haar liefdevolle familie waar ze geniet van een lekkere maaltijd en een lekker warm bedje. Zolang als Cade en Lavinia getrouwd zijn wonen ze in hetzelfde huisje. Cade verteld altijd spannende verhalen uit zijn jeugd: Hij zou avonturier zijn geweest toen hij nog jong was. Hij was toen jong en onbezonnen en heeft de “hele wereld” gezien en ontelbare schatten verzameld. Echter heeft hij dat opgegeven toen hij zijn ware liefde tegen kwam, Lavinia. Zijn grote schatten heeft hij begraven op een geheime plek in een donker bos vlakbij de stad.

Voor zover Lauren zich kan herinneren heeft ze geen ouders. Als bijproduct van een affaire tussen een noblewoman en een Mierani elf, is Lauren altijd onderdeel geweest van een ‘familie’ weeskinderen in Karvosa. Maar zelfs onder de weeskinderen zijn rangen, en half-elves staan nu eenmaal niet hoog in de rangorde.
